Cheng holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Economics through the University of New South Wales.
In his spare time, Cheng enjoys going to the gym, travelling, and watching documentaries on world history. Cheng is also a member of the Australian Army Reserves and was nominated for Soldier of the Year in 2018.
